Problem Statement:

ListingBox aims to simplify the real estate sales and escrow process by streamlining operations, automating data-driven tasks, and integrating services effectively, with the goal of reducing the sales and escrow duration to five business days. To achieve this, the user-facing front-end must be visually appealing, easy to navigate, and secure for both web and mobile platforms. A mobile application that would allow its clients to easily list and view properties on-the-go requires the integration of actionable notifications, reliable file upload, and an elegant electronic signature integration through DocSign. Meanwhile, the back-end must provide secure, scalable, and cost-effective web services and databases to support the application's functionalities. Additionally, the system must adhere to strict regulatory requirements and automate governance over process execution and document handling. Accurate price predictions are vital for the project, this can be achieved through deep integration with the MLS and AI-assisted predictive analytics.

Vendor Selection:

Smilefish presented a highly configurable data fabric solution that provided most of the required data management, analytics, process automation, and governance out of the box. The data fabric’s universal connector layer offered low-code configuration to seamlessly integrate DocSign, MLS, and other data sources. The data intelligence layer identified trusted data to predict narrowed price ranges. Moreover, Smilefish provided highly customizable mobile application templates in ReactNative that generated native iOS and Android apps from a single codebase, reducing the maintenance burden significantly.

Implementation in the AWS Cloud:

Smilefish offers a pre-configured Data Fabric Solution in the AWS cloud which strictly follows the AWS Well Architected Framework. This combination not only allwed SeaNet to drastically reduce development time and cost, it also ensures best practice for operational excellence, security, reliability, performance, and cost control.

  • A cost efficient serverless AWS Aurora database allows for complex scheduling queries at scale and meets high-availability requirements with seamless failover in the US and Europe.
  • A completely serverless implementation of all data service APIs in AWS Lambda allows for cost efficiency, low maintenance, and robust scalability.
  • The AWS Simple Notification Service (SNS) is deeply integrated in the web services to swiftly inform yacht owners or maintenance personnel about scheduled events or spontaneous changes.
  • The analytics dashboards are supported by Smilefish Data Fabric APIs that utilize AWS Aurora queries. Additionally, these APIs allow for self service analytics (i.e. Tableau)
  • AWS CloudWatch monitors the system's health and notifies admin users via AWS SNS should manual interference be needed.
